Ten Apples Up on Top Art Project
Have you read the book “Ten Apples Up On Top” with your child or students? It’s a classic, a silly story about animals balancing apples on top of their heads and trying to make sure they don’t fall down. We love reading it during our fall or apple units of study. We created this fun art project that goes perfectly with the story and incorporates some great fine motor, math, and painting skills!
You will need:
An apple
Red and green tempera paint
Paper plate
Glue or tape
“Ten Apples Up On Top” printable pages (find them here!)
The book “Ten Apples Up On Top” by Dr. Suess

Glue or tape the pages together to make one long page.
Read the book “Ten Apples Up On Top” together.
Cut the apple in half.
Put red and green paint onto your paper plate. Dip one half of the apple in the red paint, and one half in the green.
Use the apples to stamp apples on top of the child’s head on the paper.
When you’re done painting, count how many apples you made and write the number at the top.
