Pet Letter Hide and Seek Game
The very best way to practice letters with preschoolers is to make it FUN! Our Pet Letter Hide and Seek game is a low-prep, adorable, and fun way to help children practice their letters. It’s so easy to just download, print, and go! Kids love finding the cute puppy card so much, they don’t even realize they’re practicing their letters the whole time. And the best part? We’ve made this a free download for you! Scroll to the bottom of this post to grab your copy and keep reading for more details on how we use this game in our classroom.
You will need:
Pet Letter Hide and Seek Game cards (free download below!)
Scissors
Optional: lamination machine
Optional: pocket chart
Instructions:
Download and print the Pet Letter Hide and Seek Game cards (free download below!)
Cut out the cards. You can laminate them for more durability if you’d like.
Set out the letter cards. You can put them all out, or just a few that you’re targeting.
Hide the puppy card behind one of the letter cards. The student needs to say the letter name or letter sound in order to check under that card. Keep saying letter names/sounds until you find the puppy card! Then hide the puppy somewhere else and play again!
You can also play this game by putting the cards in a pocket chart. This makes it really easy to play as a whole class and take turns choosing letters.
To make it harder, have the students say a word that starts with the letter card they want to flip over!
