S’mores Match and Build Letter Game
Our S’mores Match and Build Letter Game is such a fun addition to your camping unit! We’ve created this game to practice matching upper and lowercase letters to beginning sounds. You can find it in our shop, and keep reading to see how to play!
You will need:
S’mores Match and Build Letter Game (download it here!)
Scissors
Optional: Lamination machine
Instructions:
Download and print the S’mores Match and Build Letter Game cards.
Cut out each card. There are two sets of graham cracker cards, one for uppercase and one for lowercase letters, then a marshmallow card and a chocolate card with beginning sound pictures for each letter.
Laminate for durability if desired.
If you are working on just a few letters, pull those cards out of the stack. If you’re working on all of them at the same time, separate the cards into piles (crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate squares).
Have your child build matches and create their very own s’more. Each s’more will consist of an uppercase letter, the corresponding lowercase letter, and then a marshmallow and chocolate square with beginning sound pictures.
To make the game easier, just match the crackers together, or just match the uppercase letters to one set of pictures.
To make the game harder, turn it into a memory game, or just add more letters that you’re working on at the same time.
There are so many ways to play! You can use during a literacy small group, large group instruction, or put the cards into a sensory bin!
You can find a free download of a few sample letters on our other blog post, here!

This is a great art project to accompany the book The Rainbow Fish. This comes with two versions of the project, a large poster sized one for a group to do together, or an individual one.
