Camping Subtraction Stories Math Mat

If you need a fun and interactive way to practice math skills with your preschooler, we have the perfect activity! Our Camping Subtraction Stories Math Mat is a low-prep and fun way to practice subtraction any time, but especially during your camping unit! You will need:

• Camping Subtraction Stories Math Mat (find it here!)

• Scissors

• Crayons or pencil

• Optional: Lamination machine

Instructions:

1. Download and print the Camping Subtraction Stories Math Mat, counting pieces, and subtraction worksheet.

2. Cut out the story pieces. You can laminate everything for durability if you’d like.

3. Create your own subtraction stories using the pieces. (Ex: There were three bears walking in the forest. One got scared and ran away. How many bears are left?)

4. Draw your subtraction math story on the worksheet and then write out the problem.

5. Keep using the different pieces to create more and more stories until your worksheet is all filled up.
