Our Favorite Pet Books for Preschoolers
Pets are one of our favorite themes in our preschool classrooms. Whether children have a pet at home, have one at their grandparent’s house, or are simply fascinated by animals, stories about pets help young learners build empathy, explore responsibility, and spark meaningful conversations.
Reading pet-themed books is also a great way to introduce new vocabulary, encourage storytelling, and connect literacy with dramatic play, art, and science activities. Keep reading for some of our favorite pet books that we love to read together in the classroom!
