Stretchy, Fluffy, Homemade Dough
For my kids, it's ALL about the hands on activities. They absolutely love anything that has to do with playdough, building, shaping, etc. I was recently introduced to this new kind of dough to play with and it was a total hit! It's kind of a mix between moon sand and silly putty, so it's different and fun! And the best part? It’s two ingredients that you’ll definitely already have!
What You'll Need:
Cornstarch
Conditioner
Instructions:
Pour some conditioner into a bowl.
Add some cornstarch and STIR.
Continue adding a little bit of cornstarch at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
PLAY.
Activity Notes:
Give your kids ideas of things to build! A snowman, a pizza, a snake, etc.
Help them make letters out of the dough! It would be a really fun and easy way to introduce a new letter sound.
Add food coloring to make it more vibrant and fun!
Have your kids use play-doh scissors to help them practice holding their scissors the right way.
Keep your dough in a sealed container and use it again later! Ours got a little dry, but adding a little conditioner moistened it
One of our very favorite classroom projects are these giant cardboard letters. This idea came from Miss Morgan’s Classroom. You can find her Instagram post all about them on her account (@miss_morgan_).
