Pumpkin Pie in a Cup Thanksiving Cooking Activity
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to bring fun and festive cooking into the preschool classroom—and what better way than with a simple, no-bake pumpkin pie in a cup? This hands-on activity is easy for little learners and a great way to introduce them to measuring, mixing, and tasting new ingredients. With just a few ingredients like graham cracker crumbs, pumpkin pudding or puree, whipped cream, and a sprinkle of cinnamon, each child can create their own mini pie in a clear cup. We’ve also created a fun printable to practice sequencing that you can do while you’re cooking! You can find it in our shop!
You will need:
Graham crackers
Vanilla pudding
Pumpkin pie filling
Whipped cream
Cinnamon
Clear glass or cup
Can opener
Spoon
Ziplock bag

Instructions:
Download and print the Pumpkin Pie in a Cup printable to fill out together while you make the recipe. The download includes full instructions and a fun sequencing worksheet!
Place 2 graham crackers into the ziplock bag. Using your hands, smash the crackers until they are crumbs. Place the crumbs in the bottom of the cup.
Place some vanilla pudding on top of the graham cracker crumbs.
Place some of the pumpkin pie filling on top of the pudding. If you want, you can mix the pudding and pie filling together before adding it to the cup.
Put some whipped cream on top of the filling, and then top with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Enjoy!
