Ice Transfer Fine Motor Activity

Looking for a fun and easy way to keep your kids occupied this summer? Look no further! All you need is a nice warm day, a few random objects from around the house, and a nice chair to sit in while your kids play and play! My boys love anything that involves water and being outside, so this activity was a total hit.

What you need:

  • Ice

  • Water

  • Bowls, spoons, ladles, etc.

  • Optional: fine motor scoops (find them on Amazon here)

Instructions:

  1. Fill a large bowl with ice.

  2. Give your kids all the scooping tools (spoons, ladles, etc.) and another bowl.

  3. Let your kids transfer the ice between bowls and mix water in if they want!

Activity Notes:

  • These fun tweezer scoops came in a pack with water beads from Amazon; another super fun summer-friendly activity. You can find some similar ones here.

  • After the ice melts, give your kids a paintbrush and let them "paint" the cement. It will dry quickly in the sun and will keep them busy for another long while!

Pin it for later!
