Coffee Filter Planet Art

Coffee filter planet art is a fun and easy project to add to your space unit, or to do just for fun! Keep reading to see how simple and beautiful this project is! We’ve included the material list and written instructions, but if you wanted to make your projects even easier, make sure you check out our online preschool program. In our online preschool, we have video lessons that explain exactly how to do each art project and model everything for your little learner. All you have to do is gather your materials and press play!

Instructions:

  1. Lay out a coffee filter on your craft tray.

  2. Using markers, color the coffee filter. Use a few colors, or all of them! Let your imagination run wild!

  3. When you’re done coloring, mist the coffee filter with water until it is completely damp.

  4. Let the coffee filter dry, then use a glue stick to mount it to a piece of black construction paper.

Don’t these look so mesmerizing when they’re done? This is such a fun activity to add to your space unit when you’re learning about planets. You could have the students make some that match the actual colors of the planets you’re learning about, or come up with their own colors and planets all by themselves!

My Preschool Place Online

Like we mentioned above, My Preschool Place Online is the very easiest way to teach your child all about space (and letters, and numbers, and poetry, and art, and cooking, and science….you get the idea!). Miss Toni and Miss Megan have hundreds of videos about every preschool topic you could ever think of, and all you have to do is press play! Their videos and coordinating workbooks are all you need to get your child ready for kindergarten or evade the summer slide between school years. Check them out here!
