Space Rhyming Tic-Tac-Toe [free download]

Rhyming is an important phonemic awareness skill that children need to have in order to build a foundation for reading. We have a super fun space rhyming game that you can download for free to practice this skill with your child in an entertaining and hands-on way! And if you’re looking for a way to make practicing rhyming even EASIER, we have an entire online preschool program that will teach the lessons for you! All you have to do is press play! Instructions:

Our space tic-tac-toe game couldn’t be any easier! Here’s how to play:

First, subscribe to watch our online preschool video to learn all about rhyming words!
Then cut out the rhyming cards, answers page, and X and O cards.
Distribute the X and O cards to each player, then place the rhyming cards upside down in a stack.
The fist player draws a rhyming card from the deck, says the word out loud, and then tries to find its matching rhyming word on the game board.
Once they find the match, they put their X or O card on the picture.
Then its the other player’s turn!
Keep playing until someone has three squares in a row or all the squares are filled!

Over spring break we were looking for some fun and educational things to do (since it was still snowing and wintery here!) We decided to use a few of our online preschool lessons. We had some cousins over and all of them were completely entertained by the video lessons! The older cousins loved helping the younger ones play the game, so it really was a great activity for a variety of ages. They are such an easy and entertaining way to help your kids learn new skills and practice skills they need to maintain.
