Experience Online Preschool with a Free Video Lesson

Have you ever wondered what our online preschool lessons look like? Today we have a full sample lesson for you to do with your preschooler! Our videos are incredibly fun and will keep your young child engaged and learning the whole time. They’re awesome to use if you’re homeschooling, if your child is sick that day and wants to do preschool but can’t go in person, or even just needs something fun and educational to do while you get some tasks done as well. This interactive lesson will teach your child all about the number 5 while reading the book Five Green and Speckled Frogs. Let’s dive in!

What you’ll need:

  • The book Five Green and Speckled Frogs (find it on Amazon here!)

  • Little froggy counters (here are some cute ones!)

  • Optional: counting math mat that is included in our online preschool curriculum

  • Free cut and count PDF downloadable worksheet (linked below)

  • You can watch the entire lesson for free on our website! See the link below or just click here.

Instructions:

  • Read (or sing!) Five Green and Speckled Frogs together.

  • Read the story again, and this time set out five frog counters on the math mat.

  • Sing the song together, and each time a frog jumps into the pond, move one of the counters down into the water.

  • Repeat until all of the frogs are in the pool.

  • To extend the activity, you can introduce the concept of subtraction if your child is ready.

  • After you’ve practiced a few times, you can download our free cut-and-count frog activity below to continue learning and practicing!
