Easter Egg Salt Writing (and free download!)

Have you ever tried salt writing with your preschooler? It is a fun and easy way to make writing and learning letters so much fun! We love that it accesses the kinesthetic learning style and provides a multi-sensory way to learn about letters. We’ve added a fun Easter twist and even included a free download for you below!

You will need:

  • Plastic Easter Eggs (get them at the dollar store or Amazon here)

  • Letter Manipulatives (or print out the free Easter egg letters download below!)

  • Salt

  • Tray (find one at the dollar store or an old cookie sheet will work, too!)

The Preschool Place is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Instructions:

  1. Fill your Easter eggs with the letter manipulatives. You can use magnetic letters, foam letters, or the free printable letters we’ve included below!

  2. Fill your tray with a layer of salt.

  3. Have your child choose an egg and remove the letter that is inside.

  4. Have your child trace the letter they found with their finger in the salt.

  5. Repeat as many times as you want!

We hope you love this great tactile learning activity as much as we do! Happy Easter!
