Rocks on the Moon Math Activity and Free Download
We can’t wait to show you this fun and interactive math game that is perfect for your preschool space unit! We’ve included a free downloadable lesson plan and moon mat, and you probably have everything else you need right at home to play. This moon rock math game is great for teaching number recognition and counting through play. Be sure to scroll to the bottom for the video to watch it in action.
You will need:
Moon Page (free download below!)
Rocks or gems
Dice
Instructions:
Gameplay #1 (Independently)
Place all supplies in front of your little space cadet.
Have them roll the dice and identify the number they rolled.
Have them place that many rocks on their moon.
Repeat until they have used up all their rocks.
Gameplay #2 (Competition mode!)
Place all supplies in front of your space cadets.
Take turns rolling the dice and identifying which number is rolled.
Place the exact amount of rocks that you rolled on your moon.
The first person out of rocks wins!
