Giant Cardboard Letters

One of our very favorite classroom projects are these giant cardboard letters. This idea came from Miss Morgan’s Classroom. You can find her Instagram post all about them on her account (@miss_morgan_), and you can find her letter template on her Teachers Pay Teacher store, right here!

We mean it when we say this is one of our very top favorite activities to do with our preschoolers. The letters take some prep work (we make them over the summer), but you could do this on a much smaller scale at home with cereal boxes or Amazon boxes and still have a blast!

Once we have our letters all prepped, we let our students help us decorate each letter with an item that starts with that letter. We found things at the local dollar store and online. Here’s the list of the items we used this year:

  • A is for Alphabet

  • B is for Butterflies

  • C is for Crayons

  • D is for Dots

  • E is for Eggs

  • F is for Feathers

  • G is for Grass

  • H is for Hands

  • I is for Igloo

  • J is for Jewels

  • K is for Keys

  • L is for Leaves

  • M is for Monster

  • N is for Night

  • O is for Orange

  • P is for Popcorn

  • Q is for Quilt

  • R is for Rainbow

  • S is for Spiders

  • T is for Tape

  • U is for Umbrellas
